Things to do at a party?
OK, well, since I don't know if anybody will comment, because historically this blog dosen't get alot of comments, but...
I'm thinking of things you, my loyal readers and friends, would like to see at our Grand Opening?
What activities would you absolutely drop everything to come to?
What prizes would make you happy?
What new builds would you love to see?
Let me know in world or in comments.

Invitation.... to what exactly?
OK, so.... working on the invite for you all, wasn't going to post it here until I was done but...showed it to a few friends, each of the 6 times I tried to improve it. I was pretty happy with this one until I showed it to someone....
Them: Try it standing.
Me: That'll throw the whole composition off, how come?
Them: You need to be more professional, not look like a man-whore.
So I pose the question.... do I look like a man-whore? Answer in comments. O and by the way, come to the party since you've seen the invite.

I hate it when I lose things
OK, so this should be Codex Chapter 3 but it's not. I am looking for the item I used to get the rotation script right and I can't find it in my inventory so I'm having to rebuild where I could have gotten it in order to actually show you how sl itself helps us creative types. Frustrating to the nth degree let me tell you....
I do have to say that the one major time I needed support from LL for my Second Life problems it was insane, I couldn't access my inventory at all, I mean I could, but nothing would rez, couldn't change clothes, nothing. It took 5 unbelieveably long days for them to fix it but fix it they did and it genuinely turned out ok. The fact I can't find something now isn't a technical problem but I just deleted it because I didn't need it anymore. That is until I decided to share my journey in retrospect with the internets.
On top of that I spent most of this weekend getting ready for that surprise I dropped a hint or two about earlier. Packaging up new builds, harranging designers to get their new products to me, playing with sand.... all in all it was a productive but tiring weekend. So... some random blog love for you all to tide you over while I try and find this dang thing I'm looking for:
Digital Knickers - because I'm a sucker for lace.
Girl Wonder - because she writes in ways that make me laugh.
Neit Tackleberry - because she needs to write more and if you all bombard her with comments maybe she will.
By the way Luna lost another year, or is that added one? Go give her Birthday Comment spanks.

Codex the second Chapter...
So where were we before I got my car wrecked and life happened? O yes, telescopes... Up above you can see what I finally ended up with. I had discovered that making the telescope actually take over the client viewer wasn't going to be very workable, possible, but not workable. So I kept looking. For inspiration I was looking at Hubble Telescope images and I thought, wouldn't it be cool if this is what you saw when looking through the scope? So I set out to discover a scripted way of making the pictures on a prim cycle. I'd seen this done before so I knew it was possible. This is when I discovered the lsl wiki.
What'dya know, there's a script funtion that does exactly that called llSetTexture. The example in the wiki does all sides of the object, well, that won't work because I don't want the back of the cylinder inside the telescope to show the stars, I want it mostly transparent so that if someone is being silly and looking through the wrong end they can see who's looking up at the stars. So, since ALL_SIDES is the variable that obviously controls that, let's try telling it which side to rotate textures on... trial and error time.
I finally figured it out and created a workable slide show frame! I put that in my back pocket and I sell it in my shop as a photo frame. It takes the inventory of the object and cycles through the textures. I uploaded a bunch of images from NASA that are in the public domain and built the 'lens' of my scope. After that it was just a matter of building a cool looking telescope around the frame. I used textures I really like, made em shiny and had a working telescope. Time to put it in a dome for the building. Which I did with the 'small scope' first. Well, yeah, that worked... but I really want a scope that rotates, so that it would look cooler.... how do I go about that? I think I saw a merry go round.....
Next time: no carousel horses for me... Who names a horse Tom?

Thanks for the Concern.
I'm alright, bruised but not broken, just been dealing with the fallout of someone turning in front of me and wrecking my ride. Painkillers have been making me sleep alot so I've been doing not much as far as blogging, but yes I'm ok. I'll get back to the Codex by Monday if not before. Thanks for all the continued concern and well wishes.
