Live Music Sundays ~ Stella Silvansky

Linden Labs expands - Purchases SLX and OnRez

If you haven't heard yet, Linden Labs (LL) the makers of Second Life have purchased the two premier web stores that provide shopping for in world items. If you are interested in the analysis the lovely Gweneth Llewelyn's thoughts are the ones to read right here. My personal thought is that this isn't that bad, it's unlikely that LL is so stupid as to completely integrate into the client/server structure, if they did they would be killing their land business. However, it is possible that we are heading to more of a ghettoized envrionment with OpenGrid and other things built with the same technology. It will happen eventually, I just didn't think it would be this quickly. My thoughts on that could fill textbooks so that's a post for another day.

We as a company do sell on both SLX and OnRez and will continue to do so, but to really see our designs you should come to our mainstore. I'll buy you your drink of choice, virtually of course.

Diabetes Updates

So, concerning my virtual insulin pump, I've redone the scripting to fix a couple issues....

Firstly and most importantly, the timer in the script can casue the script to lockup, I've made it so when you detach and reattach the pump it resets the script, so this can be solved by the end user.

Secondly, I corrected a typo in the high blood sugar message that told people to eat. It really should be taking insulin.

I have no way of tracking who has the Insulin Pump, if you have one and need the new one please IM me and delete the old one, The correct one should have a script saying BloodTesting(v2) in it.

New Year, New Name, New Stage

So I finally got a name for my stage, coined by Damian when he shortened our name our music venue is now named Ingmann's. Here's the new logo for the stage and a shot of it with our guitar and piano, feel free to come by and play anytime.

Land for Rent. - 1/4th Sim.

I have a beautiful 1/4th sim on a Class 5 private server for rent. I'm also a very nice landlord, minimal covenant, residential only. I'll build a custom castle or house for you for free. 6000L a week. If interested please let me know in game by IMing Noelyci Ingmann.

No Concert at Natalis this Weekend

Just so you all know. I've driven 5 hours and have to fly in 10, so I'm not saying much more.

The best of 2008

So, it's time to look back at 2008 and take a first blush reaction at the favorite thing I created. If I have to list just one thing it's gotta be my Insulin Pump. I love the fact that I created something that is a real education tool I don't sell it, it's just there to grab and hopefully bring a part of identity from the real world into the virtual self. Plus I got hot avatars to pose with it!!!! Some of them look like this!

If I'm talking about projects, I was very proud of Endless Nights, even though it didn't last I was happy to do a low lag rp sim and enjoyed it. Not to mention the Natalis sim! I love my home/business in Second Life and I hope to have exciting news on that front soon. (Shhh, don't tell anyone, but we will soon have a full sim and may have rental opportunities if you like my style of building, you may luck out.)

As far as IDG goes, it's been difficult. We haven't sold much the last few months and it's hurt. I understand that's just the economy right now, and I've been frustrated, I owe a huge thank you to all my partner designers and other friends who pulled me out of my funk and said I needed to keep going, The social aspect of this is really why I do what I do and I wouldn't have made it without them. Some of them have joined me as designers this year and they are growing leaps and bounds. So thank you to all of you, if you don't know who you are that's my error and remind me to make up for it!

So, I haven't been posting for awhile, mostly because I've been out of town more then in town, and dealing with the holidays, but.... I got these for Christmas and they are awesome! They are made by Westone, who makes hearing aids, so they are the most comfortable smallest headphones I've ever worn. They help a ton when listening to the live music in SL. I have some exciting news concerning Natalis and IDG, but I can't quite share yet. Anyway, this was kind of a nothing post, but I'm back and hope you all got for Christmas what you wanted.
